Packing Angst and British Airways

The new camera has arrived. I have absolutely no time to learn how to operate the darn thing so will bring along the instruction book and learn as I go. For a back-up plan, I will also bring my easy to use, point-and-shoot camera. Of course, the battery charger for my point and shoot camera is at our cabin. Fortunately, I have a friend who will loan me her charger for the trip. (My trusty mag light is also at the cabin. I'm hoping Dave remembers to bring it back home before I leave.)
I'm in the middle of packing for India. This has not been as difficult to pack for as my last trip to Macchu Picchu and the Amazon River, when I had to pack for hot and steamy weather, cool weather, and rain. However, no matter how much I travel I get a touch of packing anxiety so it's probably best that Dave is at our cabin while I'm going through my packing angst.
I shopped at Gulliver's Book Store today and bought some primary level books for the children we will be serving. I also found an activity book that may give me ideas if I have to teach children. For my comfort, I'm hoping to work on a health care project. However, with Global Volunteers you are taught to do what the community wants you to do. This may be an adventure in more ways than one - especially if I end up teaching small children!
As far as the strike, British Airways is still up in the air. (Pun intended.) However, they have to give 7 days notice if they go out on strike, so it looks like we'll at least get to India! British Airways seems to have also put in contingency plans in place, so if an unresolved strike is in place when it's time for us to leave, we may not be stranded for an undue amount of time. It would be nice to be stranded just long enough for us to have time to see the Taj Mahal...
Also in from British Airways - since we are overnighting in London (due to lack of scheduled flights), we have to pick up our checked bags at Heathrow Airport, then recheck them in the next day. Now, I've picked up bags AND checked in bags at Heathrow. This is not fun. However, this may help in assuring our luggage doesn't get misplaced. Misplaced luggage gives me very big angst...
